service was amazing! Kudo to them especially with covid 19. However. Food wasn't that memorable. But was still edible!
Good food and plenty of it. Servers are excellent. Be sure and try the spicy cole slaw. WOW!
Fast service, good food. Barbecue or not
Wonderful! We moved here from Colorado, and happened upon Bobby Qs by chance. Glad we did. Service and food was wonderful! We will be back!
The hostess we have sometimes encountered on Friday or Saturday nights is lacking in grace and social skills. She is blunt and unpleasant to deal with. We come for the food and service otherwise, both of which are good, ,but we would come much more if they had a different hostess. Some of the hostesses are good, it's just this one that is the problem.
Was really impressed with food. No complaints at all
Ribs were a little dry but sides were plenty and good. Liked the banana pudding
Food was good service was great bbq sauce was not my favorite I have had but other than that all good. Pecan pie was delicious.
Our family has eaten there for well over 30 years and never had a single issue. Food and service has all ways been excellent. Everything on the menu is great. Well worth the drive from anywhere!
Both meat options we tried were delicious (catfish and pulled pork) and the sides and sauces were really good too. The restaurant was clean, and the service was great. It made for a great lunch stop on a road trip, and was a convenient pull off from Interstate 40.
Good selection overall. Tasteless for me though. Had to really add on the sauces, and salt and pepper.
Absolutely Wonderful! Tons of delicious food and a sweet, attentive staff. There were 8 of us aged 7-70 and we all loved it. We had no problem walking in on a Saturday evening, unplanned. There was plenty of seating. Go for the ribs!! Pork was our second favorite meat choice. Hush puppies are huge and they are totally a shareable size. Everything else was great too! Will definitely stop on our next trip thru town.
The food here at Bobby Q's is wonderful. Whenever I have guest in town, Bobby Q's is one of the places that I suggest for food. Have never gotten tired of the Barbeque sandwiches or the pulled pork platters. Also, the banana pudding is the best that I have ever tasted (don't tell my grandma about that though). If your visiting from outside of Cookeville, then I would suggest eating lunch or dinner at this local favorite.
Love this bq the most out of three counties..
Deserves every star! We hardly got our orders out of our mouths before food was on the table. Everything was delicious, from the ribs to the beans to the pie. (Excellent French Coconut pie, at the server's suggestion.) The banana pudding is another staple.
Really enjoyed coming here! The food was delicious and service was excellent. I have a picky eater and she cleaned her plate! Their baked beans are the best we’ve had anywhere. The slaw is good. You can tell everything is fresh made from scratch. Highly recommend.
Very courteous and attentive service. Food was excellent! The pool room slaw is a spicy cole slaw. The ribs and the pulled pork are worth the wait. Took some banana pudding to go. Yum!
Good barbecue, hickory smoked on site. Great servers. Try the fruit tea and their famous banana pudding!
The food has always been really good, and they serve a really good salad on Mondays as a special. We always ask to be served by Kayla, she is very attentive and friendly, and you can’t beat that sweet southern charm.
Sampler was great, plenty of food. But my favorite was the banana pudding, excellent!
Pulled pork sandwich was a little bland. The chicken however was outstanding! The tea is also good.
Wonderful food. Good food. Banana pudding to die for.
Bobby Q''s is famous in this part of the country for the best barbecue around. I love spicy food, and they have what they call Pool Room slaw, and it is very, very spicy, and it is delicious. I would eat here every day if I could.
Awesome food, great service
Great atmosphere (4 Stars) , Friendly Staff (5 Stars) , Clean (5 Stars) , Ribs (4 Stars), Pork good but a bit dry (3 Stars), Beef bland (2 Stars) Curly Fries over cooked but OK (3 Stars), Corn on the Cob tasteless (1 Star), BBQ Sauce mild and hot not to our liking (1 Star), Large Portions (5 Stars), & Prices reasonable (4 Stars).
Food was delicious, but the service was dreadfully slow. Waited over five minutes after being seated and had to flag down the hostess to let her know we were ready to order. No one apologized for the long wait.
Went there for lunch this afternoon for BBQ. Is very different from Texas BBQ. There were no brisket and no sausage to my surprise. The sauce was ok. I ordered the platter which have a little of everything. If you like BBQ, come to Texas.
Had a great lunch today with my wife!
Such good food!!
Waitress was excellent. Ribs were a little tough, but good flavor. Poolroom slaw was unique, and very good.
Good bbq, ample servings so you won't leave hungry
Love this old favorite in Cookeville, TN. Mike, the owner, swings by the table to say hello and check on your meal. Can't beat the banana pudding to finish off a great meal.
Really liked this place. Hometown feel, great BBQ, service with a smile.
The best hush puppies ever! Slaw was good, not too sweet. We had pork and beef. Two sauces, hot and mild. The hot is pretty hot. We also had baked beans and potato salad. Worth going back.
Best bbq in town. Yum.
Went there for first time tonight to take my girlfriend for her birthday. She loves catfish😊 I myself have worked in food business for a number of years as chef over Marriott catering in Ohio. I rarely give reviews but I decided too this time because I read so many good reviews before I went there. Well I was disappointed I ordered half rack ribs and my girlfriend order catfish , the ribs were barely warm and very dry it was obvious they were heated up and the fish had definitely been heated up they had grease floating on them. The Mac and cheese was cold as well. The baked potatoe was only thing I found hot, i felt bad that I had takin my lady here for a meal that didn’t own up to the reviews I read. I hope you learn from my review and fix what happened here for future customers. I’m not a mad customer just disappointed it was not good.
I love going to random food joints and trying different eats.
Wasn't pleased with this place. We had the pulled pork plates. Meat was ki d of tough and we didn't really care for the sauce. The green beans were good! If you are not familiar with this place be warned...Poolroom slaw is slaw with barbeque sauce mixed in! We didn't care for it! Service was friendly and attentive.
Tough, dry beef. Only one person waiting tables - long wait
Pulled pork and brisket were so so, brisket under cooked and the pork over cooked and dry. Sides were also just ok. Potato was nothing special. All in all ok service too.
Surprising and very good. I like it better than the old location up near Bangham.
Fast service delicious food excellent prices!!
Catfish sandwich was very good, catfish meals were a bit high for our budget (we are seniors) as was bbq meals, expected more from wedge cut fries portion wise & weren't really what I expected for wedges, most were regular fry size, freshly cut okra deep fried was very good. Service was excellent.
There were 3 of us first timers there for lunch. I don't eat meat so I ordered hush puppies and baked beans. The hush puppies were very large but very dry. The baked beans had a lot of shredded pork but the flavor was ok. My partner ordered the small pulled pork sandwich with Cole slaw on top and a side of curley fries. The sandwich was small but the pork was barely warm and had no flavor. There was only about a teaspoon of Cole slaw on the sandwich. He did say the curley fries were good. Our guest ordered the 2 piece grilled catfish dinner. This comes with 2 sides and he ordered fried okra and green beans. He thought the catfish was overcooked and didn't seem to care for the okra. Prices aren't terrible but sandwiches are more reasonable than dinners. Our server was pleasant and attentive but all in all we were disappointed.
Fishlets cooked perfect and easy to share.
I have eaten at Bobby Q's for many, many years. The servers have always been top notch. 99 percent of the time the food is great. Everyone has an off day. The only thing I could complain about was the fish being under cooked. Fortunately it doesn't happen very often. My go to dish is the Mustard fish with curly fries & half and half slaw. The Fruit Tea is also very good. All in all I would definitely recommend Bobby Q's if you have never been here.
Food was great very large portions. Service was also great.
Fantastic BBQ place. Mac and cheese is amazing! The hush puppies are the size of baseballs, and worth every deep fried calorie. Ribs and delicious, deep fried bbq chicken was fantastic as well. Highly recommend!Edit: after talking with my husband, I've decided to remove 2 stars from my review. Our infant needed a diaper change while we were there, and the restaurant does not have a diaper changing station in either restroom. He was forced to take our 4 month old baby outside, in 35 degree weather, and change her on the backseat of our car. And he was not the only person in the parking lot changing a diaper at the time. This is a family restaurant. There is no excuse for the lack of diaper changing options.
Great food, friendly staff. Heather was the greatest serving my family.
My grandsons fav place to get Ribs! Always enough for for two on one plate. Food was fast hot and great tastings. Service was great! Love it
